Christine Spindler

Landscape Designer

Christine is starting an exciting new chapter as a landscape designer at Groundworks Office. In 2020 she left her VP role and 25-year career in marketing & advertising to pursue her master’s in landscape architecture.

Drawn to the transformative potential of green roofs and urban forests, Christine embarked on her journey into landscape architecture. Urban ecosystems soon captivated her attention, aligning with her drive to fuse design with local ecology. While earning her Master of Landscape Architecture from UC Berkeley, Christine became deeply engaged with the myriad benefits of ecologically-driven design—from combating climate change and reducing heat island effects, to boosting biodiversity and elevating the spirits of urban residents. She is interested in developing spaces that provide emotional and physical benefits. With inspirations ranging from landscape architects to urban designers, Christine enjoys designing with systems in mind.

As a member of the Groundworks Office team, Christine envisions landscape architecture’s pivotal role in addressing climate change, championing designs that prioritize health, accessibility, and enjoyment for all. She is dedicated to crafting spaces that are not just resilient but also brim with life and connection.
